Family Piazzetta - The ancient origin

In all the research in Italy, are always references to the presence of very old family Piazzetta in Feltre, in the Province of Belluno. Based on this research can perhaps conclude that the roots of the large family Piazzetta are in this town and its surroundings, knowing that the current geographical boundaries have changed much over the centuries.

In the beginning of the fourteenth century the town of Feltre is invaded and destroyed by the troops of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, commanded by Maximilian I. Feltre destroyed occasioned, of course, a grand'esodo of the inhabitants to escape the tragedy. The search for work, this important engine of the great migratory movements around the world, caused and still continues to motivate large displacements of people. With the destroyed city was created by the need to seek work and a safe place elsewhere. These were the reasons that forced the Piazzetta to migrate further south.

The need d 'immigrate

Without attempting to end the argument, this space has been idealized as a form of homage to my ancestors, and also as a reference point and support for all the descendants of several lines of the Family Piazzetta in the world. The appalling conditions of emigration Venetian, especially the late nineteenth century, returning the hard research and understanding of our past family.

We believe that knowledge of our family history and the collective, the causes that have created this veritable exodus, will contribute much to our personal growth.

the social, political and economic Veneto region, after the last twenty five years of the nineteenth century, came back poor. Hunger, pelagra, and lack of future, has forced thousands of men, women and children to abandon forever their common birthplace, family members, finally emigrating to seek a fortune elsewhere. This fortune, in the majority, was nothing more than a decent job, a touch of bread on the table and a better future for his children.

Brazil, by extension, the facilities offered in the beginning of the period of emigration, ready to return in the dream of the majority of poor farmers and small tradesmen who wanted Veneto a place to work and earn the bread of every day, a place where they could be masters of their land and create their children in freedom.

The difficult decision to emigrate, the uncertainties and fears of a long journey towards the unknown ocean, the precarious conditions in the ships, the many problems found on arrival in the new land, marched deeply the lives of our ancestors, and these feelings We have been trips to his descendants, as a sort of inheritance.

To better situate the reader in time, we will begin this summary from the family line Piazzetta, the emigrant descendant
Francesco Venetian Piazzetta, arrived in Brazil in the year 1890.
remember in any way that this space is open for the disclosure of all other rows of the Family Piazzetta. Those concerned are asked to send material to email address mentioned in this blog - familia_piazzetta@yahoo.com.br

The harsh conditions of life

Piazzetta Francis told us that the conditions of life, of Pederobba then, were not very different in other municipalities of the Veneto. The cost of living was very high, especially for the poorest, since that was missing work for a large portion of the population. The loss of the collections in the region by the disastrous weather conditions, during several years following: a bucket, hail, floods in the flood plains and the mountains, has brought hunger and pelagra throughout the Veneto.

The poor peasants, sharecroppers and craftsmen, were suffering a lot more, especially due to the notorious tax on flour and salt, two more odious forms to penalize the most needy.
They did not see them a chance to better future in their homeland and the current entry was emigrating to America in the era praised the "Eldorado." Many of his neighbors and friends were now parties in this migration and spread to everyone.

Finally, in the year 1890 Francis Piazzetta, and then a widower with five children to create, in the face of difficult conditions Pederobba of life, with lack of a decent future for his children, he decided to leave in emigration to Brazil.

from the left to the eldest daughter and sister Pederobba Giovanna Antonia, then married Louis Viviani, which never returned to see her again.

Thus, in the year 1890, Francis Piazzetta and his sons, John the Baptist with 19 years, Dove Rose with 14, 11, and Noah with Augusta Aurora 10 with a lump in my throat, left for ever the dear homeland to never to return again.
